Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individuals from South Africa to join the housekeeping team aboard world-renowned cruise ships. This is a unique opportunity to travel internationally while building a career in the hospitality industry. As part of the housekeeping crew, you will be responsible for ensuring that guests enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming onboard environment throughout their voyage.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in guest rooms, corridors, and public areas in accordance with cruise line standards

• Replenish linens, toiletries, and in-room amenities daily

• Provide high-quality service while respecting guests privacy

• Report maintenance issues, lost items, or security concerns promptly

• Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times

• Participate in regular cleaning schedules and deep-cleaning procedures

• Support colleagues and work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment

• Attend safety drills and staff training as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

• Ability to work efficiently and follow cleaning protocols

• Basic verbal English communication skills

• Physically fit and able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods

• Positive attitude and a genuine desire to provide excellent service

Experience

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality experience is highly desirable

• Cruise ship or hotel housekeeping experience is a plus but not mandatory (training provided)

• Freshers with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are welcome to apply

Working Hours

• Rotational shifts: 8–10 hours per day, 6–7 days a week

• Contract duration typically ranges between 6 to 9 months

• Rest days and vacation periods are provided at the end of the contract

• Ability to handle cleaning equipment and products safely

• Flexibility to adapt to different guest preferences and ship policies
