PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and optimizing the Salesforce platform to support operational efficiency, internal business processes, and reporting. The administrator will work closely with leadership, developers, and the user community to gather requirements, execute Salesforce configurations, and conduct testing. The successful candidate must balance analytical problem-solving with hands-on technical configuration to translate business needs into functional solutions. This role requires strong communication, business process analysis skills, a diligent work ethic, and a collaborative, positive presence.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as one of the primary systems administrators for the Salesforce.com environment of 400+ users
  • Conduct business requirement gathering sessions that detail end-to-end process mapping
  • Develop user stories and to-be process flows to support the design and development of Salesforce solutions
  • Work collaboratively with team members to design and execute solutions that include data mapping, object modeling, page layout design, and automated business processes.
  • Implement new enhancements including the creation of custom objects, advanced Salesforce Flows, email alerts, approval processes, and templates.
  • Support, optimize, and maintain Salesforce AI capabilities—including Agentforce, Einstein Copilot, and predictive models—to enhance system automation and streamline business processes.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining integrations between Salesforce and other applications/systems.
  • Successfully document and maintain documentation on application use, process flows, and user training materials.
  • Design, test, debug, and deploy quality, scalable, and well-documented configuration-based solutions on the Salesforce platform.
  • Perform routine reviews of configuration, data, and usage to ensure long-term viability, data integrity, and user adoption.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements and modifications to improve system performance, efficiency, and reporting.
  • Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, role hierarchy/security management, report and dashboard development, and other routine tasks.
  • Complete regular internal system audits, manage Salesforce data feeds, and prepare for seasonal platform upgrades.
  • Effectively act as a liaison between users, vendors, and the application development team.

    Proficiency in designing, building, and troubleshooting complex Salesforce Flows (Record-Triggered, Screen Flows, Scheduled Actions) in alignment with platform best practices.
  • Project & Time Management: Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle simultaneous requests, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Analytical Thinking: Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization (including management, staff, students, and external vendors).
  • Requirements Gathering: Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from underlying true business needs.
  • Impact Analysis: Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and existing upstream/downstream processes or systems.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce.com administrator
  • Saleforce.com Certified Administrator (ADM201) required
  • Salesforce.com Business Analyst or Platform App Builder Certification preferred
  • Hands-on administration experience with Salesforce Education Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud and Tableau is highly desirable
  • Experience leveraging and configuring AppExchange products to develop a solution
  • Experience with Gearset or another Salesforce DevOps solution is desirable
  • Experience soliciting, gathering, analyzing user input, and documenting user stories/process flow diagrams
  • Experience in 3rd party integrations, preferably with the following providers: HubSpot, Intacct, Asperato, DocuSign, FormAssembly, Canvas, Regent, Marketing Cloud
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform best practices, data security models, and declarative configuration capabilities
  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
