Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Oil Rig Welder to join our team in providing high-quality welding services on offshore platforms. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity of oil rigs and maintaining safe and efficient operations. This position requires exceptional welding expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in challenging offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks on various components of offshore platforms, including structural steel, pipelines, and machinery.
  • Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct routine repairs and maintenance on rig structures and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for welding projects.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and adhere to industry standards during all welding activities.
  • Participate in safety drills and comply with offshore operational requirements.
  • Document all welding activities, inspections, and repairs for record-keeping and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick Welding.
  • Certification from a recognized welding authority (e.g., AWS, ASME, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of offshore safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical schematics.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding, preferably in an offshore or industrial environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing complex welding projects under challenging conditions.

Working Hours

  • Rotational offshore schedule (e.g., 28 days on/28 days off).
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during emergencies or critical projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and offshore rig operations.
  • Familiarity with welding inspection tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
